I love exposing students to artistic experiences that they will keep for a lifetime. In my classes students are introduced to various mediums such as pastels, paint, and clay to learn techniques in drawing, painting, print making, and sculpture. My goal is for Art become meaningful for each student as they discover different artists, cultures and art movements throughout history.I believe Art is an incredible tool that helps students make meaningful connections with projects that encourage critical and creative thinking, collaborative learning, and hands on engagement in the classroom. I strive to link student experience to fine arts education through arts integration and diverse learning opportunities. Art increases motivation and enhances core curriculum objectives by promoting communication, expression, and problem solving.

This is my ninth year teaching Art in the elementary school setting. I most recently taught Art at Heritage Trails Elementary School in Moore, Oklahoma, and also at a contemporary art gallery with artists of all ages. I am excited to be able to continue my passion right here in my new hometown of San Diego. My door is always open, so please come check out the wonderful things our students are doing in Art this year!
