Better Together

Del Mar Union School District has partnered with researcher Dr. Alan Daly and the University of California, San Diego for Better Together, a research-practice partnership to support DMUSD’s strategic planning and implementation. The primary purpose of this project is to capture data on DMUSD student success, culture, and key strategic initiatives. This will support the Strategic Planning and implementation.

The Better Together data collection covered domains that are aligned with the district’s vision, mission, and core values. The collection and analysis of stakeholder input will provide actionable insights that will inform our decision-making processes and enhance our understanding of the district's needs.

The University of California, San Diego has led the data collection process, engaging a variety of educational partners across our district, including students, teachers, staff, parents, and administrators. Each survey was carefully designed based on academic research with questions validated for reliability and successfully implemented in other educational settings. The results will be used to support the district in ongoing efforts to realize the goals set forth in Destination 2028!
