Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Plan

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Plan

The objective of our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts is to ensure every child receives equitable access to a quality education in order to develop their full academic and social potential and prepare children and adults to thrive in a diverse society.

Our diversity, equity and inclusion objective is reflected in the four levers of our strategic plan, Destination 2028! Destination 2028! is a comprehensive strategic plan which includes both the collective vision that articulates our community’s aspirations for all of our students, and the set of priorities to inform how we focus our energy and resources in our schools to meet the needs of all students so that they are prepared to thrive in a complex and rapidly changing world.

Advisory Committee

Advisory Committee

The purpose of the advisory committee is to provide ongoing input and feedback about the continuous work in our district related to our diversity, equity and inclusion objective. The committee includes a variety of perspectives and representatives across our district including the principal, two to three staff members, and one parent/guardian from each of our nine school sites. Committee members discuss district-wide efforts and support consistent communication of these efforts to individual school communities.

No Place for Hate

No Place for Hate

Whether you’re a student, educator or family member, you have a role to play in combating bias and bullying as a means to stop the escalation of hate. No Place for Hate® is a self-directed program helping all members of your school community do just that.

All of our nine schools in our district have received the No Place For Hate designation. For more information on No Place For Hate in San Diego County, CLICK HERE.

Parent Resources

Parent Resources

The Del Mar Union School District remains committed to creating an inclusive environment where every individual feels safe and valued. While our classrooms serve as safe places for children to express their thoughts and feelings regarding current events and matters centering on diversity, equity and inclusion, we also want to support parents in having such conversations at home. The resources below may be helpful in approaching sensitive or difficult subjects with your child. The connection between our schools and students’ homes will help to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion become a foundational cultural pillar of DMUSD.
